We're Heeeeeeeeere!

Okay folks, we made it to Spokane. Still without internet access in our new house, here I am at Starbucks at 6 a.m., sipping my coffee and trying to think of a way to sum up all the craziness that is moving. All I can say is that it has been an adventure for sure....

Packing up all our belongings and sending them off in an ABF freight truck...

The tearful goodbyes on our day of departure...

Stocking up on Trader Joes goods - the closest one now is in Seattle! As if I needed another reason for a weekend trip...

The grueling 2-day trip through the forest with a very restless Black Lab...

Arriving in Spokane to an unpleasantly dirty house. One hour in, bad things start to happen. Without going into too much detail, I'll just say that Numi went to battle with an iron stake coming up from out of the ground. And he lost. Our first night in Spokane was spent in the pet emergency clinic hoping that Numi would be okay...and after surgery that negated all the cost-saving measures we took when moving, the three of us trudged back to the house with Numi in a groggy drug coma.

Since then, we've spent our days scrubbing all the floors, painting the walls, replacing really old things like shower heads and toilet seats, and trying to keep Numi "lying down for two weeks" per the doctors orders. (Can I get a big YEAH RIGHT!?)

Today our truck arrives and thus ushers in the unpacking process...and it couldn't come any sooner. After 4 nights of sleeping on hardwood floors with questionably-functional sleeping pads/bags, I am looking forward to our bed, couch, heck, even a chair!

We miss our family and friends. After our initial scramble to find an emergency vet clinic in a brand new town, we were reminded more than ever of the supportive network of family and friends that we left behind.

I have some great pictures to post soon - today we're getting internet in the house, so those are coming soon!
