Raspberry Apricot Jam

I had my first canning my lesson with Alisa yesterday, and it was wonderful! A few pounds of apricots, a couple flats of red raspberries, and the always cheery and domestically inclined Alisa meant for a fun morning of canning and conversation. I also got a garden tour - man, this girl is amazing! - and some great advice about where to find the best farmer's markets, craft stores, and other fun places in Spokane to explore. She even sent me home with some fresh herbs and a head of broccoli from her garden - with the promise of weekly boxes of fresh veggies - our very own CSA! Times like this remind me that friends are such blessings...and I'm so glad to have met her.

My next step - try out my own canning skills on the 4 pounds of blueberries I have in the fridge...we'll see how it goes!
